The light beer Mītava, produced in creative collaboration between Cēsu alus and band Brainstorm (Prāta vētra) is now available with a special collector's label – created in Latvia for the first time.
As part of the development of the Mītava beer brand, for the first time in Latvia a new label has been created – a valuable item among beer accessories. The label, designed by the Swedish artist Bjorn Hurri, shows Santa Claus – the symbol which creates a festive mood anytime, anywhere and for everybody.
”We wanted to give this feeling also to the fans of Mītava beer and to those who will decide to buy it exactly for the non-traditional design,” says Māris Mihelsons, the co-author of the label design.
Named differently at different times, Santa Claus, Father Christmas or Saint Nicholas visits us once a year, therefore the Mītava beer label is also limited edition. The creators of Mītava themselves claim that the Christmas label will be soon followed by others.
The light beer Mītava recognises the importance of a good quality and sustainable brand – since April 2008, when Mītava was created, it has taken up a stable position in the so-called 'traditional Latvian' beer segment.
Mītava Beer is available in 0.5 litre glass bottles or cans.

- In spring 2008, the light beer Mītava was created from an old recipe of the band Brainstorm (Prāta vētra) musician Jānis Jubalts' father, brought to life by the beer brewery Cēsu alus.
- In 2008 two million bottles of Mītava were sold in Latvia.
- In June 2008 Mītava beer and JSC Cēsu alus received the Cicero Award in the advertisement nomination Best Advertising Campaign.
- In February 2009 the canned beer Mītava was created. Its design was created according to a 20th century style, with the good humour and groove of the Mītava creators’ lifestyle.
- In June 2009 Mītava beer was declared as the most successful newly introduced product in Latvia in the light beer category.
- In 2009 at the 10th Kiev International Advertising Festival, a Mītava beer TV advert was selected as the best TV and cinema advertisement.
