JSC Cēsu alus receives the Structure 2009 award

Cēsu District Council awards the Structure 2009 award for territory improvement and production premises reconstruction works on the territory of JSC Cēsu alus.

Approving the improvements on the production territory of JSC Cēsu alus, carefully planned and implemented for several years, at the official event in honour of the 91st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, Cēsu District Council awarded the company the Structure 2009 award in the production structures group.

The improvement works included the implementation of several important production projects – construction of industrial water treatment plants, reconstruction of production buildings, construction of a new car park and improvements of the territory.

“The installation of the treatment plants is a large scale project for both the company and the city. The new plants provide treatment of waste water, preventing environmental pollution, as well as creating a by-product – biogas, which is efficiently used in the technical processes of production. Overall, the work completed is several years of targeted work with large investments – since 2008 more than 3 million lats,” says JSC Cēsu alus Production and Technical Unit Manager Māris Strazds.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Cēsu District Council Jānis Rozenbergs: “We are glad that one of the largest companies in the city is still continuing to develop, investing in production, in technologies, and also in the improvement of its territory. The instalment of the latest treatment plants provides not only for the optimisation of processes in the company, but is also a significant investment in the environmental improvement of the city of Cēsis.”
