Cēsu alus has started to produce hand and surface disinfectant in order to contribute to the fight against COVID-19 virus during a national emergency. “Sanitizer Forte” is a strong disinfectant based on ethyl alcohol (70%) and glycerol, filled in a 500 ml bottle. 70,000 bottles of disinfectant were produced in the first batch.

Eva Sietiņsone, Chairman of the Board of Cēsu alus: “At a time when disinfectants are urgently needed, we want to contribute and ensure the availability of disinfectant in the country, using the expertise of Cēsu alus specialists and our strong laboratory base. Part of the volume of disinfectants produced – 5,000 bottles – will donated to Cēsis Clinic, Vidzeme Hospital and Cēsis Branch of the Emergency Medical Service to thank the medics for their contribution and hard work in public health care. We will also provide disinfectants for every employee of the company.”

The “Sanitizer Forte” disinfectant has been developed taking into account the guidelines of the World Health Organization and has been accredited by the state supervisory authorities – the Food and Veterinary Service (FVS) and Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LEGMC) – confirming the effectiveness of the product and appropriate concentrations of ethyl alcohol in the control of viruses and bacteria.

Residents will be able to purchase the “Sanitizer Forte” disinfectant remotely at the online store of Cēsu Alus www.veikals.cesualus.lv, with home delivery throughout the territory of Latvia, and it will also be available in retail stores.

5,000 BOTTLES OF “SANITIZER FORTE” DISINFECTANT WILL BE DONATED TO MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS OF VIDZEME REGION

Providing support to medical institutions of Vidzeme region, today, on 9 April, Cēsu alus will deliver 5,000 bottles of Sanitizer Forte disinfectant to Vidzeme hospital in Valmiera as well as to Cēsis clinic and Cēsis Branch of the Emergency Medical Service.

Ingūna Liepa, Chairman of the Board of Cēsis clinic, said: “The challenges and difficulties facing both us, medical authorities, and every company have an invaluable side effect. And it is a sense of community. It strengthens our immunity as a nation and gives us an assurance that we are each equally responsible for a common goal and outcome, and it is only together that we, medical workers, large and small entrepreneurs from different sectors, the governing authorities and society as a whole will be able to overcome this virus and return to the normal daily work. We are also gratified by the public’s understanding of the current tasks and high risks of those working in medical institutions, of the self-denial with which medical and nursing staff perform their duties. Whether support is expressed in words or thoughts, it increases our sense of mission and sense of responsibility to society.
