Cēsu Alus Expands the Extent of International Quality Standard

During the regular process of re-certification, JSC “Cēsu alus” has expanded the activity field of the BRC International Quality Certificate, adjusting the operation of the plant located in Cēsis to international standards. It has been acknowledged by the expert audit that standards are being strictly upheld and the highest grade – Grade A quality standard has been assigned.

Upon successful implementation of a complex quality audit, at the end of 2010 JSC “Cēsu alus” has received the highest grade – Grade A certificate for one of the world’s most rigorous voluntary standards for food safety and quality management – BRC Global Standard for Food Safety Certificate. International Quality Conformity Assessment Institution Latsert, which implemented the audit, has expanded the extent of the quality standard, applying it to the canned production, as well as all the production meant for plastic or PET packaging.

In 2006, JSC Cēsu alus was the first food production enterprise in Latvia to receive the BRC Certificate, becoming a good food production practice flagship in the country.
The highest grade quality certificate in the BRC global food market is considered to be a benchmark of good food production practice. The Quality Certificate received provides an extension of the scale of the quality and reputation of Cēsu alus products, as the largest clients of commercial chains both in Latvia and internationally highly value the standard, which provides high quality of products and their safety for the consumer.

The BRC (British Retail Consortium) – Great Britain’s Merchant Association – has established the international BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, defining the requirements for food enterprises that supply products to commercial chains and other companies.
