An international study carried out in 40 countries has identified the most efficient companies of 2009. JSC “Cēsu alus” has been judged as the most efficient beer producer in Latvia, ranking in a high position namely No. 10 of the list of food producers in the Baltics.
In the study efficiency of the companies has been defined as income gained from a full-time employee in 2009. The efficiency index of JSC “Cēsu alus” has been identified as 186 points, which ranks the company in first place in the beer production sector in Latvia. Cēsu alus is also the most efficient group company among the companies of the Baltics included in the beverages producer “Olvi Oyj” portfolio. In the list of food production sector in the Baltics Cēsu alus ranks in No. 10 position.
Chairman of JSC “Cēsu alus” Board Eva Sietiņsone – Zatlere: “We have outlined our values in the company and they define the activities of employees and form the overall understanding of the organisation’s culture. By defining what characteristics we value in our employees and setting the work results as the priority, we implement a performance-orientated attitude and activities. These are the basis for improving the company’s efficiency and allow it to implement both personnel development, as well as business strategies.”
According to the study the best results are achieved by those companies that:
– have developed a performance-orientated work culture,
– have clearly defined the criteria of what type of people corresponds to the actual work culture,
– critically evaluates the requests to increase/decrease the number of employees,
– the choice of innovations is closely related to the development of the existing products and processes,
– proactively identifies and develops the skills of its managers.
The highest efficiency index in the Baltics within 12 sectors out of the entire 31 included in the study has been achieved by Latvian companies. The most efficient companies in Latvia and the Baltics have been identified by analysing the financial results of 1480 companies. The efficiency analyses of the companies have been carried out by “Profiles International” Research Institute in cooperation with its partners in the Baltics. The list of companies according to their efficiency index has been created in each of the 31 sectors included in the study.
Evaluation of effectiveness for Latvian companies has been carried out by applying “Profiles International” methods, that use the reports of 2009 of the largest companies available in the Lursoft data base.
