Cēsu alus invests 50 thousand lats in the expansion of beer brand Cēsu Nefiltrētais, creating a new beer brand Cēsu Nefiltrētais Baltalus. Cēsu Nefiltrētais was the most successful novelty beer of 2011, which is also acknowledged by the recognition of beer lovers and high demand.
Precisely a year after introducing Cēsu Nefiltrētais beer in the Latvian beer market, Cēsu alus is expanding the non-filtered beer line with a new brand – CēsuNefiltrētais Baltalus. According to the Cēsu alus leading master Māris Grambergs: “The nature of this beer is mild, with a well-balanced flavour bouquet of wheat and barley.CēsuNefiltrētais Baltalus has been produced according to a classical beer brewing method, it is raw and non-filtered, and thus it has not been purified from the yeast particles found in beer. Taking into consideration the specific nature of the beer, the natural precipitation processes continue, thus the sell-bydate for CēsuNefiltrētais Baltalus beer is short – 30 days.“
CēsuNefiltrētais Baltalus belongs to the “family” of white beer, which is particularly favoured in the old European beer power states – Germany, Belgium, Austria and also becoming even more popular in the Baltics and Eastern Europe– Ukraine, Belarus. Thanks to its delicate flavour, aroma nuances of hops and wheat, the white beer brand tastes particularly good together with fish or meat dishes. The white beer is also widely used for making various desserts, for example, sorbets and ice-creams.
The Chairman of the JSC Cēsu alus Board Eva Sietiņsone Zatlere: “By introducing the beer in a glass bottle with such a short – 30 days -sell-bydate in the market, we have broken down the stereotypes and entered a previously undiscovered market segment. By fast recognition of beer lovers and sales exceeding a million litres, Cēsu Nefiltrētais beer brand has become the most successful novelty in 2011, occupying 10% of the market share within the traditional beer segment.”
The total investments in the creation of Cēsu Nefiltrētā Baltalus were 50 thousand lats. This summer it is planned to sell a million bottles.
