The second largest beer brewer in Latvia JSC Cēsu alus has established a unique concept beer restaurant Merlin, which as from today is open for guests. A Fusion style menu, design and wide choice of world beer brands are the hallmark of the restaurant.
The second largest beer brewer in Latvia JSC Cēsu alus has established a unique concept beer restaurant Merlin, which as from today is open for guests. A Fusion style menu, design and wide choice of world beer brands are the hallmark of the restaurant.
Developing the beer drinking culture in Latvia, Cēsu alus has created a special concept beer restaurant. Beer restaurant chef Aleksandrs Kardašs, as part of the main concept of the menu, has accented the idea of adding beer to as extensive choice of foods as possible, as well as such types of fusion style meals, which are perfect together with different types of beer.
To provide unique food preparation technology, at the restaurant – unique in Latvia – a special Josper oven has been installed, which has been custom-built. It is an open type oven, in which suitable meat dishes are grilled, for example, steak, as well as different flour and vegetable dishes.
The restaurant will offer more than 50 kinds of beer. Cēsu alus brands, along with world famous brands. In choosing the beer selection the goal is not for the beers to compete with each other regarding flavour, but to emphasize the wide variety of kinds of beer in the world. Restaurant clients will be offered the opportunity to taste Lager type beer, which is the most popular in Latvia, as well as Ale and Stout beer varieties from various major beer production countries.
The beer restaurant Merlin is located in the newly developed Riga Spīķeri block, it is located on three levels – the basement level, first level, in which a lounge bar is located and second level – the restaurant floor. At the restaurant entrance a summer terrace will be located. Author of the interior design is Zane Tetere. The restaurant can host 150 guests.
The restaurant title Merlin originates from the name of the good magician Merlin of the Welsh legends with the goal to integrate Merlin’s character in the visual setting of the restaurant, as well as the interior, thus personifying good humour and the magic of the moment.
JSC Cēsu alus owns and originated the idea for the restaurant, the restaurant is managed by LTD Duglass RB, and the premises are provided by Spīķeru biedrība.
